A Scalable Model for Portfolio-Wide Solar Deployment

Wood Investments partnered with King Energy to deploy solar across seven retail centers using a model designed for scale. King Energy handles development, financing, and construction of the solar systems, allowing ownership to add onsite generation without upfront capital, internal resourcing, or added operational complexity.

The result is a portfolio-wide solution that delivers immediate NOI through lease revenue, provides energy savings to both the property and tenants, and creates long-term incremental value for ownership.

Portfolio-Wide Solar Performance and Financial Impact

Across seven Wood Investments retail centers, King Energy has deployed enterprise-grade, multi-tenant solar systems serving more than 90 tenants statewide. Each system is built for long-term performance and reliability, with King Energy responsible for ownership, operations, and maintenance.

Collectively, the systems generate more than 4.8 million kWh of solar energy annually. The programs deliver over $280,000 in combined annual value through a combination of lease revenue to ownership and energy savings for both the property and tenants. In parallel, the systems offset more than 3,100 metric tons of CO₂ each year.

For Wood Investments, the partnership translates into immediate NOI, improved tenant economics, and a proven path to scale solar across assets.

“Partnering with King Energy across our California portfolio was an easy decision. Their model creates real financial value for our centers, simplifies tenant participation, and helps us deliver on our sustainability goals, all without additional capital investment.”
