In 2018, Washington D.C. passed the Clean Energy DC Omnibus Amendment Act, setting a mandate of 100% renewable electricity by the year 2032. This was later augmented by the Local Solar Expansion Amendment Act in 2022, requiring a minimum of 15% of that energy to come from solar.
